Workforce Development
Although New Ventures does not specialize in economic development or workforce development consulting as separate fields, Anne has found that workforce development is increasingly central to planning and system building in the areas of aging, behavioral health, community schools, healthcare, and justice-involved initiatives. Workforce development becomes an important part of building plans that work, and consulting to system development that is practical and “do-able.”
“With the retirement of ‘baby boomers’ and the impact of Covid, many fields have lost key parts of their workforce – from frontline workers to managers and leaders who direct large scopes of work,” says Anne. “It is important to understand these trends and how to address them.”
Economic development also features prominently in research and system development, especially when working with rural counties that have been losing population, jobs and capital for decades.
